Waitlist Terms
Effective September 21, 2026
The short version
- You must be 18 or older and currently enrolled in college.
- We open in waves. The top 100 in line get in first.
- Invite real friends. Fake sign-ups and spam get removed.
- Nothing on the waitlist has cash value. App rewards come with their own terms at launch.
These terms apply when you join the Free Period waitlist at freeperiodapp.com. By joining, you agree to them. Free Period is operated by Free Period, LLC ("Free Period," "we," "us"). Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.
Who can join
You must be at least 18 years old and currently enrolled at a college or university. One entry per person. The information you give us must be true, and you must use an email address you control. We'll verify eligibility, including your .edu email, before giving anyone access.
Your place in line
Your position is based on when you joined and how many friends joined through your invite link. Positions can change as others join and refer friends. We may remove any entry that breaks these terms.
We'll open access in waves. Wave 1 is the top 100 in line at the time it opens. After that, we'll open campus by campus, starting with the campuses that have the most sign-ups. We'll share timing as launch approaches. Joining doesn't guarantee access by a specific date.
Referrals
Each friend who joins with a .edu email using your personal link moves you up 10 spots. To keep it fair:
- No fake, duplicate, or disposable email addresses, and no referring yourself.
- No bots, automated sign-ups, or spam, including unsolicited mass messages.
- No buying, selling, or trading referrals or positions.
We may void referrals or remove entries we reasonably believe break these rules. Referral credit and waitlist position have no cash value and can't be transferred.
Founding members
Students who are in the top 100 of the waitlist when Wave 1 opens, and who pass .edu verification, will receive founding member status. We'll describe founding member benefits at launch. Founding status has no cash value and can't be transferred.
The campus race
After Wave 1, we'll open Free Period campus by campus, starting with the campuses that have the most sign-ups. Campus counts include people who joined with that school's .edu email.
Rewards
Joining the waitlist doesn't earn rewards. When Free Period launches, the app's points, reward options, payout methods, and prize drops will be governed by separate terms and official rules, which you'll be able to read before you use them.
Your answers
If you answer a quick-take question, you let us use your answer in anonymous, aggregated form, for example in published results or insights shared with brands. We won't attach your name or email. Please don't include personal information in your answers.
Brand names
Brand names shown on the site are trademarks of their respective owners. Showing a brand doesn't mean it sponsors, endorses, or is affiliated with Free Period.
No warranties
The waitlist and site are provided "as is." We don't promise they'll be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Free Period isn't liable for indirect or consequential damages related to the waitlist, and our total liability won't exceed $50.
Changes and ending the waitlist
We may update these terms or end the waitlist at any time. If we make a significant change, we'll update the date at the top and let you know by email or on the site.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
